Hello, Diz Planet readers! As a 22-year cast member, I’ve gotten to see and make a lot of magic over the years – as have the rest of the 77,000 cast members at Walt Disney World Resort. From the day-to-day things like presenting a guest with a Mickey sticker or meeting a character during a cast-exclusive event, to the once-in-a-lifetime moments like being on the opening team for a new land, the #DisneyCastLife is something special. Being part of the Disney team has brought so much joy to my life, it’s my pleasure to join the Blog as an author to bring you stories about my fellow cast members.
To kick off our first one, I’ve got a question for you. If you had to draw Goofy in 20 seconds, could you do it? I might be able to make something passable, but it would sure look (excuse the pun) goofy! We recently presented that challenge to cast members at The American Adventure pavilion in Epcot, with hilarious results.
If you’d like to try your hand at drawing the world-famous Disney characters, visit the Animation Academy at the American Gardens Theatre, part of the fourth annual Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Classes happen daily at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., so be sure to plan your visit to include this fun activity, suitable for artists of all ages – and skills! Not only will you have more than twenty seconds to create your masterpiece, an actual Disney artist will be there to guide you every step of the way.
