Let’s face it, we have seen some rainy days this past month in the sunshine state. Sure, it makes the trip a bit soggy, but no rain shower can stop the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Don’t believe me? Check out these great tips from the Disney Parks Moms Panelists on how to enjoy your Disney day despite a little rain shower.
For Anne Marie, some of her best Disney vacation memories took place on a rainy day! And one of her favorite tips? Grab that poncho!
“For rainy days, I highly recommend bringing ponchos or other rain gear in addition to umbrellas. I recall my fellow panelist Amy recommending wearing a ball cap with a brim under the hood of your poncho or jacket to keep the rain off your face.”
Panel Pro Tip: Ponchos, rain jackets and other rain gear can be found at numerous merchandise locations throughout the parks. Don’t see them, just ask a cast member to point you in the right direction.
Outside Character Meet and Greets can be halted should a rain shower pop up, and we certainly don’t want our friends like Jessie and Woody braving the elements! However, Jessica reminds guests that Florida weather can change as quickly as the color of Pascal and although your favorites might have to step inside for a moment they will return as soon as they are able.
Panel Pro Tip: Be sure to check out all the excellent locations you can meet your favorite Disney Characters … inside!
And remember a rainy day can be the best day ever …
“I absolutely love rainy days at the Walt Disney World Resort. The crowds tend to be lighter and with so many attractions, queues, dining locations, and merchandise locations indoors, there are a lot of breaks from the rain. I have also noticed that there is rarely a day where it rains all day. It often starts and stops instead,” Tabitha.
Panel Pro Tip: If rain causes a change in your outside plans for the day, why not take in an inside show or perhaps enjoy a snack. Did someone say Dole Whip?
