This year was one of the most exciting years at the Disneyland Resort. Before we ring in the new year, let’s take a look back at highlights from 2019!
Jan. 16 – Popular San Diego-based craft brewer, Ballast Point Brewing Company, opened in the Downtown Disney District, bringing more than 50 high quality, innovative beers across 100 taps along with its delicious brewpub-style menu.
Jan. 18 – Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration kicked off a party to celebrate 90 years of magic with a new, limited-time nighttime projection show – “Mickey’s Mix Magic” – as well as the return of “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade,” décor, specialty foods, merchandise and more!
Mar. 30 – Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures, an all-new, elegant dining experience with some of your favorite heroines, debuted at Napa Rose restaurant in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Apr. 5 – The yodeling cowgirl from the “Toy Story” films inspired the opening of Jessie’s Critter Carousel. Nestled along Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, this attraction promises a rootin’ tootin’ good time.
Apr. 26 – Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration opened for a limited time in the Downtown Disney District, transporting guests through a whimsically immersive, picture-perfect experience.
Apr. 26 – The 3D movie musical “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” premiered in Disney California Adventure park, showcasing the spectacular magic of Disney animation and music.
June 28 – Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind opened in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, taking guests on a sense-ational spin aboard one of eight Memory Movers.
May 18 – Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes celebrated its official grand opening in the Downtown Disney District, serving over-the-top CrazyShake shakes and award-winning, mouth-watering burgers.
May 31 – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the epic new land inside Disneyland park, officially opened! This historic opening was the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion ever in a Disney park.
June 14 – Disneyland park celebrated 60 magical years of three iconic attractions: Disneyland Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Submarine Voyage (which is now the re-imagined Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage).
July 18 – Jonathan Ridgeway from Ocean Springs, Miss. became the 1 millionth member of Hondo Ohnaka’s flight crew to take the controls of the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland park.
Sept. 17 – The all-new, separate ticket event, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party debuted at Disney California Adventure park, treating party guests to multiple new experiences, including the “World of Color” spectacular – “Villainous!,” a DescenDANCE Party, “Mickey’s Trick & Treat” stage show, a mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience and more.
Aug. 9 – The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland park celebrated 50 years of happy haunts.
Dec. 6 – The cast of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker got a first look at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disneyland park before it opens to the public on Jan. 17.
