Each and every day at Disney Parks around the world, our cast members make magic for guests. But did you know that mission extends beyond our resorts? Through the Disney VoluntEARS program, our cast members have the chance to give back to their local communities and spread joy to those who need it most.
More than 1,000 Disneyland Paris cast members bring smiles and surprises throughout France, coming together to share feelings of wonder and enchantment wherever they go. This can be seen especially in French hospitals, where more than 40,000 hospitalized children have experienced the magic of Disneyland Paris since 1991.
This week, Disney VoluntEARS brought Christmas joy and gifts to children at Trousseau Hospital in Paris, one of the more than 400 hospitals in France that have welcomed our Disney VoluntEARS over the years. Disney VoluntEARS visit not only to deliver gifts, but also to play games, host educational workshops and of course bring a few friends along like Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
In the weeks leading up to the holiday season, Disney VoluntEARS have been delivering gifts to hospitals for more than 1,500 children – the best way to wrap up a year of volunteer actions at the resort and around France. And in 2020, Disney VoluntEARS will play a key role in Disneyland Paris’ support of the annual Pièces Jaunes operation which supports hospitalized children across the country.
Beyond hospital visits, Disneyland Paris also works with nonprofits across Europe – more than 100 in 2018 – to support community outreach events, host events at the resort and grant wishes to children. There are even volunteer actions like nature excursions and activities with kids to help preserve the environment and promote awareness of biodiversity with future generations.
